FIFA INFORMATION Empty
PostSubject: FIFA INFORMATION    FIFA INFORMATION EmptyWed Jan 26, 2011 10:40 pm

Football fans know that FIFA (The Federation Internationale de Football Association) is the association that regulates and carries out international football games. The current FIFA president is Sepp Blatter. The FIFA history dates back to 1904 when this association developed FIFA laws governing international football games. The many interesting facts are contained in FIFA information about its history and development.

The Federation Internationale de Football Association, generally recognized by an acronym FIFA, is the intercontinental football (soccer) organization. Its headquarters are located in Switzerland, Zurich. The current FIFA president is Sepp Blatter.

Now let us look at the most interesting FIFA history facts. At the beginning of the 20th century the necessity for a single organization to manage international football games became obvious because of the international fixtures increasing popularity. This is an interesting part of FIFA information about the FIFA history. The English Football Association had carried out a great number of negotiations on the issue regarding the international body set-up. Finally, this was a great improvement in FIFA development. After the English association's failure, it fell to seven other European countries to band together to form FIFA. Finally, FIFA was founded in Paris on May 21, 1904 - the French name and acronym persist to this day, even in English-speaking countries. Its first president was Robert Guerin.

In 1906, FIFA carried out its first international competition, which was met with little success or approval. This, in conjunction with the poor economic performance, resulted in the quick Guerin replacement with the Englishman Daniel Burley Woolfall, now member of the association. The next tournament staged, the football competition for the 1908 Olympics in London was more successful, despite the presence of professional footballers, contrary to the founding principles of FIFA.

What follows if the interesting FIFA information about its membership. FIFA Membership expanded beyond Europe with the application of several other countries, such as the United States (1913), Argentina (1912) and South Africa (1909).

FIFA floundered during the World War I, because many its players were sent off to military operations and the opportunity of travel for international games and matches limited. In post-war years, following the Woolfall death, the organization was managed Carl Hirschmann, a Dutchman. The FIFA was rescued from its extinction, but at the cost of the Home Nations withdrawal, who cited a disinclination to take part in international world wide fixtures with their recent enemies.

The FIFA information about laws of the game follows next. FIFA laws governing the game are not totally the FIFA responsibility; they are carried out by an IFAB (the International Football Association Board). FIFA has a 50% representation on its board (four members); the other four are representatives of football associations of Scotland, England, Northern Ireland, and Wales, in recognition of the British nations' unique contribution to the creation and history of the game.

Another FIFA information that we haven't mentioned yet concerns FIFA awards. FIFA awards each year the title of FIFA World Player of the Year to the most prestigious player of the year, as part of its annual awards ceremony.
